Blog writing in general is a series of different people’s opinions. Each blog is usually short, sweet, and to the point. This is often no more than a paragraph or two at a time.  Oftentimes, the blogs are easy to read because they flow like a conversation. This makes them equally easy to understand. I am not sure if blogging has an effect on the way we read or write in general. I like to think that blogging is a quick way to express our opinions; however, if I am writing a formal paper, I know how to effectively do that. I am not so sure students can do this though. I would say many students engage in these blog sessions with their short, choppy sentences, then when it comes time to writing a paper the habits carry over. Proper grammar and punctuation do not play a significant role in most blogs; therefore, I can see where people lose proper grammar techniques. Blogging is a good tool to use when facilitating learning because you get a group consensus rather than your own. There is a whole group of people sharing their ideas and if you are actively engaged in what is going on, you should be learning new things as well.
